So many words can describe The Eternal War. One most people seem to
use is endless. That is absolutely true, but far too vague. From your
textbooks you might find that it's lacking in any deep context. You
might even think, 'Hey, why care about it? It happened hundreds of years
ago, it doesn't matter.' Over a billion people died in that war. There
were over six billion people at that time. So one/sixth of the worlds
population perished in the war. That's why it matters.
Words fail to describe the hatred in everyones eyes, nor the sorrow hidden behind smiles. Let's try and name a few words.

Dust and devestation...? No, that's not the appropriate phrase for
it. Metal and mayhem? Blood and battles? Terror and tears? I guess those
words are right to explain the pain and anguish that people in the era
of old felt. People of all races were tormented by each other to a point
where their seemed no end. It wasn't a World War. It was a War of the
World. There wasn't just a select group of countries fighting together,
everyone was fighting. No person, young or old, were safe from it's
wrath.

Suffering spread like disease across the Earth, to a point where
there seemed to be no end to it. Even the oldest elder couldn't remember
a time where blood wasn't shed from war.

But this isn't a story of war, that is simply a backdrop in the grand portrait of story I will paint for you.

This tale is of riveting adventure, unbreakable bonds, friendships
that don't just stop at race or ideas, and of course a story of bravery
of a kind that shall never be lost no matter how great the age. Now
let's go back, to when the world was young...

Yep... Read that prologue, tell me what you think. Does it interest you? Do you want to learn more? Do you hate it? Give me ways to make it better.

My interest in it depends on the time period this takes place in... But sure, continue it.

Also, one/sixth is improper. It would be written one-sixth or one sixth. There's no slash. Slashes aren't generally used in writing anyways.

The idea itself is very intriguing, but it lacks that certain thing that urges you on to read it. Maybe you could include a tiny snippet of the main plot here, without revealing too many details, instead of just giving a description of what the world is like, to keep it mysterious and leaving the reader craving the answer to their questions (:D)... because right now, it looks like that little excerpt that you find on the tiny fold-in flap on hardcovers, and not a prologue...

... unless the story's just about the war and what it's like from a bird's eye point of view... in which case... scratch what I said. XD

Oh yeah, and it's, "No person, young or old, was safe from its wrath."

You forgot a bunch of apostrophes too...

But all in all, it's great and very descriptive. :3
